In alignment with the school’s updated School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Contingency Plan, Sacuyya Elementary School conducted a joint Threat and Lockdown Drill simulating active attack scenarios. The activity was spearheaded by Mrs. Delia S. De Peralta, Teacher-in-Charge, with Mrs. Ma. Teresa B. Cardenas overseeing proceedings on her behalf, and coordinated through Mrs. Aurora C. Sabalburo, SDRRMO Focal Person.
The simulated emergency exercise was conducted in close cooperation with law enforcement and emergency response officers from the Santa Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by PLT. Ryan Jay B. Quiocho, alongside SFO2 Ronald A. Quilana.
Key Exercise Phases & Protocols Evaluated:
- Emergency Alarm & Immediate Reaction: Upon sounding the active threat signal, class advisers immediately activated lockdown protocols—locking classroom doors, securing windows, extinguishing lights, and keeping pupils calm and away from doors and window sightlines.
- Law Enforcement Arrival & Campus Sweep: Santa MPS personnel executed tactical response protocols, securing campus perimeters, sweeping hallways, and establishing command control to simulate threat neutralization.
- Safe Evacuation & Student Accounting: Once cleared by responding officers, teachers safely guided learners to designated secure assembly areas, followed by immediate headcount verification by grade-level advisers.
- Post-Drill Evaluation & Debriefing: Responding officers, school administrators, and safety coordinators convened for a post-drill evaluation to review response timelines, assess communication efficiency, and refine the school’s emergency response procedures for continuous safety improvement.
