In a joint commitment to early childhood values formation and crime prevention, personnel from Santa Police Station, under the direct supervision of PCPT ROVIC NELMIDA, Officer-in-Charge, successfully conducted an interactive PROJECT R.E.A.D.Y (Resistance Education Against Drugs for the Youth) lecture for Grade 1 and Grade 2 learners at Sacuyya Elementary School.
The activity was spearheaded by PSSg Karen Jane Reyes, READY Officer, with the full support and collaboration of Sacuyya Elementary School teaching staff and school administration. Designed specifically for early childhood learners, the session utilized child-friendly visual aids, story-sharing, and interactive Q&A discussions to deliver foundational life skills:
-
Lesson 1: Obedience to the Law and Considering Consequences
Learners were introduced to basic rules at home, in school, and in the community. PSSg Reyes emphasized why rules exist—to keep children safe and protected. Through simple, relatable scenarios, pupils learned to evaluate their choices and understand that every action carries positive or negative consequences.
-
Lesson 2: Learning Moral Values and Self-Esteem
The discussion focused on core values such as honesty, respect, kindness, and obedience to parents and teachers. The session empowered young learners to build healthy self-worth, recognize their personal strengths, and develop the confidence to resist negative peer pressure and avoid risky behaviors as they grow.
By establishing a warm and approachable police presence on campus, the initiative aimed to build trust between law enforcement and young pupils while instilling discipline, self-respect, and responsible decision-making at a foundational age.
